Ambassador for At First Sight!

As most of my friends already know (due to my constant nagging!), I am doing my final year project on contact lens care! I have never officially explained what it is really about so here goes:

"At First Sight" is a youth oriented contact lens care campaign that stresses the importance of proper cleaning and tending of contact lenses amongst university students. The campaign arises due to an increasing trend of contact lens usage by youths for the purpose of a beautified appearance. However, a negligence to properly contact lens care results in a higher risk of eye infections and other eye health problems. "At First Sight" hopes to communicate the message of prioritizing eye health above appearances because the sights you share with your loved ones are the sights truly worth keeping.

Although I am one of the 3 in charge of this campaign, I am also one of the ambassadors as well (because I am totally a target audience, HAHAHA)

Anyhoo, along with 6 other ambassadors, we will be doing a 7 day challenge that serves to advocate good contact lens care habits! :D
Starting 8th Feb all the way till Valentines Day, we will be putting up daily postings. There will be a 'problem' addressed per day namely:

a. Wearing contact lens for prolonged period of time.

b. Wearing contact lens pass its replacement date

c. Purchasing from unauthorized retailers

d. Using cosmetic lenses daily

e. Lack of proper cleaning procedures and regular eye checks

Happy cny with my cutest grandmama! I basically spent it nua-ing for most of the days. The most epic moments were playing dance central on Kinect? Very damn good for losing weight!! It was awesome not having to deal with fyp.. Until I realised that there IS still a video that I have not edited and it IS due soon. ARGHHH back to horrible, horrible stuff that I have yet to do.

I know I have been a negative and critical person most of the time but I really do have a lot to be thankful for!

I am thankful for my internship in RWS cos I get to know and be fwens with awesome people from CS, especially Lova and Joonsy. Where were you gaiz all my life?

Thankful for my family and I hope my grandparents will stay healthy for a good long time still.

Thankful for all my awesome friends. Seriously. Wo ai ni men even though I still have not met up with some yet. *ahem Bestie* *ahem nenesa*

Thankful that I sort of have a job waiting for me. I am rather anxious about it though! 2 dreams about it so far and they are all terrible exaggerated versions.

Mostly I am thankful for my awesome boyfee for supporting me and loving me. Seeing the bracelet I bought in 2009 in the photo makes me happy! Sorry I was crazy, and still am sometimes. Of course, being handsome helps too HAHAHA!

Lastly I love my stuffed cat Cuddles. *Small voice*

This was the last photo of me looking human. Yes pimple on forehead n small puffy eyes but still, human. I have morphed into an alien so I don't think that it is appropriate to post any photos of myself. (Not that I have any. Aliens hate taking photos.)

I kop-ed this from facebook. From Lova Clare. Not too sure if she still loves me cos I couldn't squeeze time out for some lancin' n crubbin'. Anw, said photo was le last week of school before exam week. To to think that I will finally have time to rest after exams is a big, fat lie. I haven't had a single day of peace. Except for today. Whereby I couldn't stop sneezing after waking up and yada yada basically I spent the day in bed. All fine now but yes, wasted day. Tomorrow, the alien has work. 9am to 6pm. I can't imagine WTF didn't I say NO!!!! but it was my ex company and they are all friends and I CAN'T say NO I wanna rest to friends.. :(

Seriously?? Aren't there more pressing issues compared to the views of one journalist on something as juvenile as this?

My point being, WTF should she apologise? She is a freaking journalist and thus entitled to her own views what! I have to say that I agree with her very much though. I am super anti K-pop culture and I feel like killing myself whenever I have any encounters with them.

K-pop female groups: Gives the male population (assuming straight) an unusually high expectation of what girls should look like. Please hor, we Singaporeans do not spend 10 hours in the gym or dance training, neither do we stop eating after 7pm. We have a fucking life.

K-pop male groups: I don't know about you, but my eardrums can sure take a break from all the siao ginnas screams. Plus, there is nothing attractive about a guy looking and having the built of a woman okay! In the past, they would be called 'sissys' or 'niang'. And now it is the 'in' thing? wtf.

K-dramas: The worst of the lot. Male waits for female in the rain. Female being bullied again and again by rival or in-law. Overcomes all obstacles due to 'true love'. End up giving plenty of girls false hope about a fairytale ending. 3 words for this: "wait long long" okay? Wont happen in real life!

So yes, blood boils that I have to live in such a society. Thank god for ear phones and real music.

Today marks the very last day of formal lessons in NTU. 11/11/11. Perfect.

Yes, sucks that I still have FYP so I can't graduate earlier. Cheyyyy!! Why CS why? You are wasting my youth yo! I am growing wrinkles by the seconds!

But I no longer have any more modules to clear. (Providing that I pass this sem's, of course.)

This morning, on my way to school, I felt slightly different. In the first hour of my journey to school, I told myself to treasure this very last day of lessons that I have.

From the 2nd hour onwards, my head started hurting like MAD and I was like, 'fuck la I wanna go homeeee!' HAHAHA cannot maintain the positive mood lol!

Taking a break from studying since I kept falling asleep. Such pointlessness.

Last Saturday's date out to Sentosa. Not very scenic but I thought that the weather was perfect. Cooling, and not much sun. *thumbs up*

When I was at Cafe del Moar last year, the beds were free for use. Now, you have to spend a minimum of $200. *sad face*

In the past, I would have brought a ball to play. Now, its all foooooood :D

Review: This is their star product as well as my favourite product out of the 3! It removes dead skin extremely well and leaves skin smooth. I use it daily and really leaves the skin soft. The texture of the gel is really watery so be careful not to drip!

Next, the Mineral Bubble Face Wash

Directions:

Pump sufficient amount on palm. Smooth it on your face and massage in circular motion to make sure that impurities, dirt and oil are being effectively removed from your skin. Rinse with water. Gentle for daily use.

Review: Bubble foam cleansers are very popular right now because it is more convenient: we do not need to lather! The foam is soft and creamy and upon application, it actually gives a slight cooling feel. The cleanser is moisturising and does not dry out the skin.

Lastly, the Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer to boost hydration, whitening & penetration of skincare products.

Directions:

After cleansing, pour an adequate amount onto your palm and gently pat onto face to let it be completely absorbed by the skin. Skin will feel supple and smooth after the Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer has been fully absorbed. Skin becomes fairer and more radiant with regular use!

Review: This product is absorbed into the skin quickly and leaves the skin moisturised and soft. My skin looks slightly brighter as well after usage. Another plus point is that it is super economical; a little goes a long way and I only need about 5 drops for each application.

Despite the flake over Hooters' girls skimpy orange shorts, their services are really good! Attentive and didn't get impatient when we took forever to order. The food was yummeh too.

Drinks for us. I ordered additional water (Fiji, lol) cos I was damn thirsty. It cost 40 cents less than my mango juice. ＼（－－）／

10 Chicken wings/drumlets! Reminds me of Chilis! Aww yum.

Ribs. My first time eating btw lol. Taste like Bah Kwa! The corn was terrible but the salad and potato wedges more than makes up for it. The wedges were awesomeness.

Grilled fish was even better! And we love the Italian salad dressing noms.

At this point I almost ordered desserts but thank goodness we didn't! Insanely full after these dishes.

2) AO Sept. Love this cos I hate buying protein tablets for my lenses and this one works just as well. Plus, much more fun heh.

3) B.B Eye roll-on. Supposed to be the first ever bb cream for eyes. However, the formula is too runny / the dispensing mechanism doesn't work too well. It is a really messy product. Don't expect to roll it on. At most, dab. Have some anti-dark eye ring properties though!

4+5) Klorane shampoos. I love this range of shampoo! My scalp problems started when I stupidly tried a 2 in 1 shampoos in the past, it snowed and hair fell drastically. I've tried a bottle of nizoral and it was not too bad, but highly poisonous. On my way to purchase my second bottle of nizoral, the promoter for Klorane advised me to stop using harsh chemicals and try Klorane instead, which is made with natural... stuff. I got one and YAY to clear scalp after trying like 1000 remedies, including apple cider vinegar which made my hair smell like shit.

6) Bought the conditioner as well cos I loved the brand so much. Sadly, this does nothing much, despite the price $19.90 for such a small tube. Upon reading the instructions, this isn't a conditioner but rather, a 'detangler'. Supposed to use it on towel dried hair, not dripping wet hair like I did. -.- Well, using it on dry hair works much better. My thin hair ends feels thicker but it is SO troublesome. In the end, I use the 'conditioner' first before the shampoo HAHAHA

7 and 8) Snacks I grabbed cos I love sugar and chocolate

Bare nails immediately after I cleaned off old polish. I HATE the cleaning part and love the painting part. I always had long nails, and they are very prone to breaking until I started using Nail Envy by OPI as my base coat.

I celebrated my 2nd time turning 21 in Quincy Hotel! Was choosing between several hotels when I saw several blogs featuring Quincy. Deal looks pretty good so I booked it! My stay was perfect :) Photos flood!

But first, a scary photo of Cuddles guarding my essay on Friday night. I've finished the word count by then but not the editing and referencing. Had to take lappie with me to the hotel! :(

Didn't have anything new or special to wear, plus it was a 'fat body' day. So I just threw a top and skirt together outside a bikini.

16th Sept - out with the girls! We were supposed to celebrate mah birthday and make up for Joanna's missing one =/

We were at Paradise Inn @313 and this is this first time I've ever agreed to Chinese cuisine as a birthday dinner. I will be yelling for Manhattan Fish Market most of the time :P

COLD ROCK. Queue was INSANELY long. Queue line says 20 mins but I think it was more like 30. Anw, I decided to go grab seats instead which was a horribly difficult task. But I did it in less than 5 mins despite many people loitering around for seats. Know why?

If there is ONE skill that I've learnt from dear NTU, it will be seat snatching.

Everyday, I spend 4 bloody hours to NTU and back and being an absolute sloth, I NEED a seat. My seat snatching skills iz pretty awesome. But I do get VERY PISSED if I don't get a seat. Thanks to thesamplestore, I got to try out the new Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash from Biore!

For baby smooth skin!

I never knew that:

1) Pre-mature wrinkles, loss of bounciness in skin are a result of stress caused by cleansing and application of toner & moisturiser.

2) Cleansing is the most stressful to our skin!!

Horror of horrors. I had always scrubbed my face REALLY HARD while cleansing, hoping to get it as clean as possible. I have been treating my face more kindly recently.. All by using the Marshmallow Whip Facial Wash! This is because the unique pump dispenses awesomely dense, thick and non-drip FOAM, unlike the flat foam you get from hand lathering...

The foam feels ultra fine, which cleanses better as bubble is smaller than pore size. The foam is also enriched with Collagen, which provide lots of moisture for baby smooth skin!

Just use 1 or 2 pumps of the foam and gently massage it onto the face in circular motions...

My review: The foam smells nice and has a really dense texture compared to other foam washes I've used. While cleansing, the foam actually becomes creamy... ^^

Skin is clean after washing and does not feel tight.

Since school have started, my life has pretty much been controlled by it. I'm close to becoming a full-time n.e.r.d and even got upset when the professor uploaded readings late. Nothing was worth taking photos of so far with school life.

Ironically, if all goes well, this should be my last semester being a school kid so I am kind of enjoying the hard work, in a sadistic way.

And my awesome boyfee is working round the clock SO MUCH, I hardly get to see him. His mum hardly gets to see him.

I am recently pissed by 2 other things (besides school).

1) P.E 2011: I Cannot believe that I got duped. In SG, there are only 2 kinds of people, those who are for TT(aka PAP) or those against. And I so did not realize that they were splitting the votes by allowing TJS into the election. FUCK. Big ass mistake. My heart died when TT won. I love SG and I hate to see it fall into such wrong hands and inhumanity. Confidence for the future? I am very confident that life will be harder. :'(

2) Can the HSA stop banning blogshops selling coloured contact lenses? Seriously, I can swear that it is confirm plus chop a conspiracy. Obviously, optical shops are losing big money and hence, cook up all sorts of 'horror' stories of those lenses being 'unsafe'.

Where am I supposed to buy lenses without those blogshops? Lenses from optical shops cost 5X more and ain't as comfortable/durable. (AND UGLY TOO). I pray that someone nice will introduce me to a reliable supplier pleaseeee :((

Which is why she bought this horrible disgrace of a McFlurry. Lime flavour. It looked okay until the mixing started into this green slime.

Brunch was at Kenny Rogers which sucked ass! Boooo.

Bought some loots, watched Captain America (my 2nd time), and abandoned our plan to take neoprints due to the crazy price. 28fuckingRM is daylight murder for normal neos!

Then we saw this machine and I paid 4RM to try it out.

It works! And I just realized 4RM for 500grains of sugar is daylight robbery too.

Last pic. I followed Riane back to Sengkang cos the bus was freaking fast from Woodlands (like 25 mins), took 89 back to Pasir Ris (less than 10 mins) and then 17, which took a fucking epic 1 hour but is the only fucking bus that my home has. Well, fuck you Bedok.

And Ocean Park was 2000x better than Disneyland ♥ Except that it was terribly terribly HOT. The next holiday I go to will be cold. I AM SICK OF TROPICAL CLIMATES

Now if I ever have the crazy urge to go back to HK again it would be because of Ocean Park. So many attractions (fun ones, not lame ass ones like in Disneyland) 1 day confirm not enough

I am really good at getting seats. Even though there were only 4 per section lol.

The amusement park section was built on top of a hill. Most unfortunately for me, it meant SHIT LOT of climbing steep slopes and stairs to get from one ride to another in the crazy heat.

And you get a freaking good view.
